19th C Signed French Terracotta Group Sculpture Satyr Nymph & Cherubs After Clodion - image 1 of 16

This is an incredible piece from a fantastic Wilshire District/Beverly Hills estate. It is a 19th century French terra cotta sculpture group of Satyr with nymph and cherubs. The nymph stands above the satry, holding a basket of grapes for wine while seated, he gazes at her with lust. One cherub sits on his lap the other, clamors for attention from the nymph. Incredibly detailed, signed looks like "Clodion" but then again, not quite.

In excellent condition with a very tight short hairline on the base edge where there is patina loss (see photo) no chips breaks or repairs (uv light checked) some mild patina wear on and underneath base. Whopping 21.5" tall and base is 11.5" wide and 19 lbs. Incredibly sexy!
