Noel Ruffier France (1847-1921) Bronze Bust Of Joseph Bara Barra French Revolution Hero - image 1 of 16

One of the most beautiful bronzes I have ever seen by Noel Ruffier, French (1847-1921). Bronze bust of Joseph Bara Barra (1779-1793) French Revolution republican drummer killed by Vadeens died crying "Vive la République". In addition to the incredible details on his face and head, you can see a pistol and leather belt and the scarf he wears around his neck. Ruffier did these in marble but this is the only bronze bust that I could find. I wouldn't mind keeping it for myself! :)

Stands about 19" tall x just over 11" wide and weighs over 40 lbs. Signed as shown. Excellent condition with some varying shades to bronze patina from age and wear. Excellent details!
