This is a vintage Mitsu-Boshi Thousand Eyes pattern small vase. Thousand Eyes is also called Thousand Faces or Thousand Smiles. The vase is hand painted with rust orange, yellow, blue, green, and black, and gold detailing. There is a band of rust orange, then yellow with chrysanthemums around the top, then a band of the faces in gold, then a band of vertical stripes that looks like books on a shelf. Next is a narrow band in baby blue, then more rust orange around the base. The vase is 5" tall. It is marked on the base with a Japanese mark I can't read. Mitsu-Boshi produced Thousand Eyes in the 1950s. The vase is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
