We are pleased to offer for sale this very rare example of early cut glass. The bowl dates c. 1890's. It would be a perfect addition to anyone's collection. I can only imagine this in a Victorian home as part of their table setting.
THE PATTERN IS UNKNOWN. IT HAS NOT BEEN IDENTIFIED BY EVEN THE BEST OF THE AUTHORITIES.
This exceptional pattern is one of the best we have seen. Very sophisticated - highest quality. Many cuts are double mitered. Hand blown, copper wheel cut, hand polished. Cut Glass / Crystal. American Brilliant.
Every time you look at it and think you noticed every feature, don't be surprised that when you look at it again you will see something you did not see before. It is a masterpiece.
The thickness of the glass attests to its age. The glass is 3/8" thick. The bowl weighs approx. 3 1/2 pounds.
Measures 8" wide x 4" deep. Because it is 4" deep it can even be used as a punchbowl / punch bowl.
It is in excellent antique condition. Glass is clear. White in photos from flash. Remember this is an antique that was used. Examine photos carefully to add to description. Ask questions before purchase.
