Splendid Victorian French champleve enamel 14K gold ring.

The enamel portrait of a young lady with a royal posture pictured with minuscule details.
She wears a strand of large pearls and rich garment and head scarf,
lavishly decorated with glittering dark red, green, blue champleve guilloche enamel.
The portrait is hand painted on silver in Mosan School technique,
well known in France and beyond since 11th and 12th centuries
and was centered in the Meuse River valley in Belgium, especially at Liège
and the Benedictine monastery of Stavelot.

The gilded silver background is chased with tiny dots.
The portrait is mounted in 14K gold bezel. It is quite large, 1 1/16" X 7/8".

The 14K gold band is for size 7 1/2".
It is 1/8" wide.

There is no hallmarks, tested 14K gold.
Total weight is 5.2 grams.

Some enamel is missing on the garment.
The portrait has no lost enamel.

Very good antique condition.
