Amazing large Victorian Etruscan revival cameo locket C. 1870.

The body of the locket is made of matte 18K gold adorned with Etruscan granulation and cannetille.
The cameo is hand carved from banded agate. It depicts with precise details
a classic profile relief of an ancient Greek goddess.
The cameo is mounted in the raised bezel with filigree trim.

The pendant is suspended from a large bail adorned with Etruscan patterns as well.

The back of the locket has a hinged lid which flips open revealing a picture compartment.
The latter is covered with original glass in the bezel.

The whole pendant is 2” long including the bail, 1 1/16” wide.
It is pretty thick, just under 5/8”.
The cameo is 5/8” X 3/8”.

There is no hallmarks, tested 18K gold.
Total weight is 12.3 grams.

Excellent antique condition.
