Presented here is a very cute 18 carat Solid Gold pendant medal of the First Communion, dating back to the 1940's, with rare and unique features as follows :
a) It is rouNd with a diameter of 18 mm - without bail. Total length with bale is 2.5 cm
b) Its weight is 2.9 grams net of 18 carat gold. It is in Pristine condition.
c) It is made using the “Plique-à-jour” technique : Plique-à-jour (French for "letting in daylight") is a vitreous enameling technique where the enamel is applied in cells, similar to cloisonné, but with no backing in the final product, so light can shine through the transparent or translucent enamel.
