Here is a Boyds Dollstone figurine called "Betsy with Edmund ... The Patriots" that was released in 1996; this figurine is from the Boyds "Yesterday's Child" Series, which features children with their bears and dolls.
Betsy is the name of the little girl dressed in an old-fashioned outfit with a drum and American flag; Edmund is her bear who is dressed in a nautical outfit. The details on this hand painted resin figure are remarkable, even with a braided straw look to her hat. This figure would look terrific in a collection or setting of Americana items.
The bottom gives the hand numbered edition, and this one is a "First Edition" or 1E. The figurine is in new condition and has not been displayed. It will come in the original box with a certificate of authenticity. We will also include an original brochure about the first group of Dollstones introduced in 1996.
Boyds Collection figurines have been highly collected since their introductions. "Betsy with Edmund ... The Patriots" is referenced in the 2001 "Collector's Value Guide" by CheckerBee Publishing Co, page 157.
