This lot is for four framed vintage photos by renowned architectural photographer Julius Shulman. The subject is the Tucker Residence in Cedar Rapids Iowa and dates to 1961. The architects were Ray Crites and Richard McConnell of Cedar Rapids Iowa and the two met Shulman while students at UNI. Shulman documents most of their projects spanning the period 1960 - 1985 - residential and commercial. All of the b/w prints have the Shulman stamp and job number on the back and these two color shots do not have the stamp. Shulman printed his b/w photos in house and the color was processed by a lab and that is more than likely how these and some other color shots from this collection escaped without getting the stamp. The Getty Museum has Shulman's negatives and you can search them online - once there search for Crites and McConnell and you can see everything Shulman photographed for this firm. Photos are 8 x 10 inches and many other vintage photos from the Ray Crites and Richard McConnell archive are available. Ask to see additional shots from the Tucker residence or additional photographs by Shulman of the firms other projects. Listed price is for 4 framed photographs.
