Being offered is a really nice cast iron boot scraper, rococo is style, set in a block of marble, Circa 1860. The early boot scraper is in excellent condition with no broken elements, minor surface rust and remnants of old black paint. The scraper is set in a block of marble which has been cut from the original house stairs where the boot scraper was originally installed. The marble has uneven edges, minor surface pitting and staining due to expose of the exterior elements. The booth scraper comes from a Hartford Connecticut home.

The boot scraper and marble base measures approximately 12" high in total. The marble base measures 10" wide x 8" deep x 6" high. The boot scraper measures 7 1/2" wide x 6" high. The marble block and scraper weigh approximately 50 pounds. The item will be shipped in a wooden box to ensure safe transit.

This is a beautiful boot scraper which will look great in any setting ready to grace the entrance of your period home or house museum.
