Bing Art Doll is an 11" jointed cloth girl doll with an expressively painted composition head that was manufactured by the Bing Brothers in Nuremberg, Germany, circa 1921-1932. She is unmarked. Her face is painted sensitively with wispy brown brows, soulful eyes highlighted with shadow and brown liner, a full pouty "bee sting" red mouth, broad rosy cheeks, and the hint of a double chin. Her original blonde mohair wig is braided and tied with faded ribbons. BIng Art Doll wears her original provincial outfit, shoes, and stockings that remain in sturdy condition, though its lighter portions have foxed and become spotted with age and storage. Bing Art Doll is an appealing and early child doll created in the "flavor" of the early Kathe Kruse dolls. No bad odors-- Interestingly, a similar doll is pictured on page 106 of "Jan Foulke's 2011 Guide to Dolls."
