A steal-your-breath dramatic and beautiful art deco 1920's flapper ruched opera cape with the finest rich gold lame damask with an orientalist motif. Measures: Length 46"; Collar 8 1/2" high by 20 1/2" across; Bust 50" (An approximate bust we measured from seam to seam at the bottom of the second ruched 'panel'). Bottom Hem 74".

Condition: The cape would be in remarkable condition but for one area of oxidation as seen in the last two photos. The darkened area measures approximately 20" by 2" wide but is difficult to really measure since even photographic lighting will blend the flaw into the patterns created by the weave and the light. Otherwise a couple of loose threads at the seams that can just be clipped away. Velvet is soft, supple, luscious black.
