A very stylish and striking early 1960's coat features incredible fabric that is, dare I say, worthy of a Chanel creation~ silver lame ribbon woven with textured ombre wool that has been dyed ivory, gold and rust. The affect is sublime!
Raglan 3/4 length sleeves, darts at the shoulders, hidden vertical pockets at the hips, wide Mandarin style collar with extender flaps and decorative buttons~ vertical openings in the front of the collar allow for the flaps to be tucked or 'tied' but not buttoned; hook and eye closure at the very top under the collar; one line of button holes~ with two lines of brushed gold colored metal buttons with light wood bases (one line decorative). A single lucite and rhinestone button on each sleeve, these may have been added. Coat is hand finished, full hand sewn ivory satin lining, with an aftermarket add of a wide handmade net lace sewn at the bottom of the lining (I believe, perhaps to cover a stain to the lining.)
