Carved Green Serpentine Jade Lock, Boxwood Stork Pendant Necklace - image 1 of 5

This green and golden serpentine jade Chinese lock is carved in a cut out design and etched with the dragonfly. The lock is 2 1/2” wide by 1 1/2” tall. On top of the lock is a carved boxwood stork, It is carved in detail. The entire pendant drops 2 1/2” from a brown natural leather cord that is adjustable (using slip knots) from 16” to 32” so it can be worn a variety of lengths.

In China, the dragonfly is symbolic of prosperity, harmony and is a general good luck charm.

In Asian legends the stork is said to live 1,000 years. They are symbolic of longevity. The stork is frequently shown together with pine trees also a symbol of longevity. 8

Serpentine is often called new jade. It can occur in a variety of colors including red, green, brown-red, brown-yellow and white. It was often carried as an amulet for protection against witchcraft and evil spirits in ancient times.
