A classic unadorned mid 1900s sterling silver child/baby cup or mug by Towle Silversmiths of Newburyport, Mass. The cup is heavier than newer cups, has a spacious C-handle, and is gold washed on the inside. There are no monograms. The foot is stamped TOWLE STERLING 7898 and the Lion T trademark. It measures 2 1/2” high, 2 3/4” diameter, 3 1/2” across the handle and weighs 86.7 grams. It has been used lightly and has a few pinpoint dents around body plus a couple of small shallow dents on bottom edge of foot.
