Shreve Cut Crystal & Sterling Condiment Jar w/ Ladle - image 1 of 14

Displaying the elegance for which Shreve & Co of San Francisco is renowned, this early 1900s cut crystal condiment jar or jam/marmalade jar has a bulbous body and waisted and flare top in which is seated a domed sterling silver lid with a knob handle, notch for the serving spoon, and a fancy initial or monogram which I cannot decipher. The inside of the lid is stamped SHREVE & Co STERLING 10204 and a hand incised 388. The jar has a double row of thumbprints on either side of two rows of ellipses. The jar is paired with a sterling ladle made by Baker Manchester-an excellent marriage.

The condiment jar is 4 1/2" high and 3 1/4" wide. The ladle is 5" long. Total weight is 7.4 ounces of which the sterling lid and ladle weigh 38.1 grams. Condition is excellent.
