Set 7 Reed & Barton for Vanderslice La Reine Ice Cream Forks Gold Washed Sterling - image 1 of 13

La Reine is a an ornate scrolled Art Nouveau pattern first produced by Reed & Barton in 1893. This pattern is hard to find these days, especially a set of ice cream forks. This set of seven forks is also unusual in that they are gold washed over the sterling silver, which probably accounts for their being retailed by the high end San Francisco company Vanderslice. The backs have the old Reed & Barton pictorial hallmark of an eagle, R n a shield, and a lion passant as well as being stamped W.K. Vanderslice & Co. The forks are monogrammed Sallie T. Fry on the back of each handle, and not on the front of the handle in the space outlined by scrolls and frequently inscribed with the owner's initials.

Each fork is 5 5/8" long and weighs almost 1 troy ounce. Total weight is 208.7 grams. Condition is fine except for a little tarnish.
