This most beautiful , silver enamel, Norwegian brooch bears the mark of Bull, Jansen and Prydz of Oslo. This is a company founded in 1918 which certainly continued to the 1970’s. This brooch is marked '925S' for sterling silver and I believe it dates to the 1920’s or 1930’s and may well be a memorial piece. The silver is gold washed.

It has a delicately scalloped shape and measures 1 and 7/8” (3.7cms) by 1 and 5/16” (3.4cms). It weighs 12.6 grams.

The gilt edge has a frame of black enamel. The central area is enamelled in shimmering white with exquisite detailing beneath the enamel. It is painted with an exquisite purple pansy with little buds and green leaves. The pansy signifies ‘I think of you’.

The gold washed back bears an old style c clip . It is marked with the company logo of three horseshoes and '925S'.

In excellent vintage condition, this very rare piece will arrive in a gift box.
