This rare , Art Nouveau charm is marked for 900 silver quality and bears an enamel image of a pig. It is European , probably German.
It measures 19mms long, including the top ring, by 14mms across the widest part. It weighs 2.3 grams.
At the top is a pair of leaves, finely engraved. Beneath them is a heart shape. Within it is a delightfully painted image of a pig against a blue sky . it is edged with tiny silver scallops.
At the top is a ring marked ‘900’ with a maker’s mark. Attached is bail for hanging. The reverse is plain silver.
Since originally listing this piece I have heard that there would originally have been a silver cover over the pig, thus forming a clover or flower. Still it is still great fun as it is!
In excellent antique condition, this exquisite charm will arrive in a gift box.
