Petitot
A nice1930 French art deco flush mount by Hubert Petitot. The nice mount holds a globe in clear frosted moulded-pressed glass. This model is never signed but was made by EJG (Etablissement Jean Gauthier). The mount is done in nickel plated solid brass or bronze. Would you demount it you would find the AP foundry marks of Petitot on the fitter (AP for Alexandre Petitot the father of Hubert Alexandre). In the 30s Petitot made numerous chandeliers pendants and semi flush mounts using this model canopy. See last pictures taken from the 1931 Petitot product catalog which is no part of this sale.
This semi flush mount has a height of 26,5 cm (10-7/16 inches). The canopy is 17,3 cm wide (6-13/16") and the globe has a diameter of some 15 cm (5,9"). It is in very good condition. The fixture still has its 90 years old nickel plating. Of course it shows it's old but it is still in excellent condition given its age. I rewired it with an American candelabra base socket. For Europe I will place a E14 one.
