Degué
A French art deco pendant light made around 1930 in nickel plated bronze or solid brass holding a rare bowl by Degué in clear frosted moulded-pressed glass. This Degué model (#509) has a diameter of 35 cm. It is a rare hard to find model which is never signed. Yet it is represented in the old Degue product catalog as "modèle 509 coupe 35cm feuilles de laurier" (bay leaves). The catalog is no part of this sale.
The canopy makes a great match with the decoration of the shade. The chandelier is in very good condition. As you can see on the last three pictures there is a small greenish grey spot. It is a discoloration inside the glass itself. One insignificant, small and shallow chip on the inside of the rim. I have re-nickeled and patinated the authentic mount. The pendant has a total height of 46,5 cm (18,3 inches) and a diameter of 35 cm (13,78 inches). It is rewired and holds an American standard socket. For European countries I will place a E27 one.
I have a pair of pendants listed in another ad with identical mounts but with the less rare Degué bowl number 558 representing acacia leaves.
