Matching pair of vintage mid century Italy made silver plated gallery rim trays, with faux ebony Formica centers. When Formica was first commercially available, the trays and coasters made with them imitating exotic woods were very, very popular, since it would not warp or be ruined by splashed and standing alcohol and other liquids, like wood center trays and wine coasters had always ended up being ruined. And, that was also the time period when there were now no longer businesses where you could get the rosewood, ebony, etc, replaced, as one still could, prewar. So, very popular and an exciting innovation, then.

The larger tray measures 12.25 inches across, the smaller 10.25 inches across. Both are one and three eighths inches high at the gallery rim. Both are in excellent condition with NO issues, and have been freshly hand polished.
