You are looking at a beautiful antique Victorian 19th century French bridal jewelry casket. The bride would keep her wax wedding crown and/or other keepsakes from her wedding day. These were made as an enduring token of love, to be given to a bride on her wedding day. Please note I added the ribbon.
The glass casket features thick beveled glass and ormolu gilt trim, with a closure on the front. The top features a beveled mirror, which is surrounded by antique gold metal leaves & medallions, which are soft and very pliable. Each side has a vase holder. Please note I have had this in my personal collection for a very long time, and I purchased it without the vases. I purchased three vintage glass vases, which fit perfectly. The third one will be part of the sale as a back-up, should one get damaged.
The condition is excellent, with minor wear on the tufted velvet on the bottom of the casket. There is age-related wear to the antique gold metal leaves/medallions. The four gold metal feet are in excellent condition. There are no chips or cracks in the glass.
This piece of French bridal history is a beautiful antique from the past.
