These lacquered papier mache plates have Asian scenes in their centers. The borders are filled with stars and a rope design.

These may be Asian in origin, however similar papier mache wares were made in France as well as other areas in the 19th century.

A nice group of plates, and very decorative.

Size: Approximately 6 ½" diameter.

Condition: Excellent. No chips, cracks or repairs.

Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
