Alphabet ABC Childs Plate with Horse and Fan Design ~ W. Adams & CO Tunstall England 1896–1919

This alphabet plate has definitely been used but still displays beautifully. It has a white background with red trimmed rim. The edge of the plate has the letters of the alphabet and the center has a fan design with polychrome colorful flowers and a horse outline in black. ABC plates, or children's alphabet plates, were most popular from 1780 to 1860. The letters on the plate were meant as teaching aids for children learning to read. This plate does have cracks and chip on the rim and some discoloring on the underside. Please see pictures for condition.
