This fantastic old cat oil painting on stretched canvas came to me from The Netherlands, but I suspect it originated in Germany, painted by the well known cat painter Sophie Sperlich (1863-1906). The painting is not signed. I have had several of her works and this looks like her hand. Either way, it is beautifully painted and to a cat lover it’s a winner. The frame is very ornate and in lovely condition, as is the canvas. Framed size is 17-1/4 inches high by 21-1/8 inches wide. The actual canvas is 12 inches high by 15-3/4 inches wide.
