A beautiful piece of Scottish workmanship from the later half of 1800s. Queen Victoria loved all things Scottish so pebble jewelry (as it was called then) was very popular. This is a large piece 1 7/8" by 1 1/2" wide. I have learned to cut these stones recently and it is not easy. Set in engraved sterling silver the stones are red jasper and green jasper, the small cabachons in Queen Victoria's crown I will research. The cross is slightly raised for emphasis. There is a loop on the reverse and I will add a silver ring so it can be used as a pendant.
I consider this a unisex item.
