This is a fascinating piece of history. A child's pencil case from early 1900s with a complete line of kings and queens of England from 1066 (William the Conqueror) to Edward the 7th 1901 on the underside of the sliding top. Still in wonderful condition although mostly likely belonged to a child. I am having to part with a lot of my collections and it's difficult. This I have cherished for years. The painted decal is still legible but has some missing parts of the picture. Note also the sliding ruler coming from the bottom. This is exactly how I found it years ago in England (there is crayon melted in one of the slots but I don't want to tamper with it). It's 9 1/4" long x 2 " deep x 1 1/2" tall. I guess maybe sycamore wood?
