This Antique Full Page Tin Type is of a Post Mortem Baby. It has many hand painted features. The gown the baby is wearing and the fabric under the baby have been highlighted with white and gray paint. The gown is further highlighted at the neckline, wrist and chest area. The baby is holding a pinkish red Rose, I believe. The baby’s cheeks have been highlighted with pink. In the upper right hand corner the photo has been painted with greenery.

In the mid 1800s when this photo was taken, childhood mortality was high in number. Due to the lack of health care and the hard work many children had to do to help sustain their families. What helps make this photo stand out is the fact that it is a full page. 1/6 pages’ are fairly common. The larger the picture is, the harder it is to find.

Condition: The is a role in the upper left hand corner. It does not sit flat, there are several wrinkle in the tin. Other than those 2 things no problems of any sort noted
