This wonderful hand coloured Georgian stipple and line engraving was produced in England during the late 18th century, circa 1780. The engraving features a lady writing music whilst playing a lyre with a putti whispering in her ear.
A variation of this engraving was used for several Felice Giardini (b 1716 – d 1796) concert tickets that were published in the 1780s. They were drawn by Giovanni Battista Cipriani RA (b 1727 – d 1785) and engraved by Francesco Bartolozzi RA (b 1727 – d 1815).

The engraving is housed behind old glass in the most decorative original 18th century pressed brass frame. This is a quality, decorative item that will display excellently. Measuring: Frame width 3 7/8 inch (10 cm) by height 4.75 inch (12 cm). Aperture width 2.75 inch (7 cm) by height 3.5 inch (9 cm).
Condition: 1 inch long, very thin, tear to brass face of frame at 2’ clock. Engraving likely trimmed to fit frame.
