This is a charming example of original 19th century folk art! Perfect for the literature fan.
This small portrait depicts a female sitter in profile view holding a little green book and was painted in England circa 1860. WE love the translucency of her muslin bonnet. The watercolour painting is on paper or card and is housed behind old glass in its original wooden ebonised/ gilt slip within original frame. The frame has a superb dry patina. Please see her partner item TA14007.
This is a charming naïve folk art item that will display excellently in any setting. The perfect piece for anyone who loves primitive works and purist pieces.
Please see our collection of genuine 18th and 19th century folk art and antiques in our store. We have a passion for original 19th century folk art!
