Original antique watercolor on paper painting by a famous Jewish American artist Ben Benn (1884-1983). Ben Benn was born Benjamin Rosenberg in Ukraine, which his family fled after Jewish pogroms became common in the area. Ben Benn became a well known modernist artist defying convention and styles, dipping into expressionism and cubism, but staying true to his own unique wide brushstroke and manner. This is a wonderful 1944 work titled "Landscape in late Autumn" (on back). Signed in lower left "Benn. 44".
