John Enneking was born in Ohio, later lived in Massachusetts, is a well known and celebrated late 19th century landscape artist, who worked in a variety of styles from tonalism to impressionism, he is known for his sunset scenes. His works are in private and public collections around the country.

This is a beautiful twilight scene with sun setting behind a country house and a lazy stream in foreground. Gorgeous late summer atmosphere and warm color palette. Signed in lower left corner "Enneking".
