Original oil on board painting by a well known Haitian modernist artist Paul Beauvoir (1932-1972). Paul Beauvoir is known for his impressionist studies of Haitian life using rhythmic blocks of bright colors in his work.

The work shows a woman carrying a basket on head and smoking a pipe, depicted in bold splotches of blue, brown, yellow and orange color. Sunny modernist work! Signed in lower right corner "P. Beauvoir".
