The Kestner 129 is a real beauty, with high-quality modeling and a beautiful face that is bound to please. She has blue glass sleep eyes, with a darling open-mouth expression, and stands at 22” tall on her original lovely fully-jointed Excelsior body in great condition. She is topped with a deep brown human hair wig, and wears a sweet white lacy dress. She is a true beauty, and a great example of one of the more desirable dolls made by Kestner. She has a bisque socket head with brown glass sleep eyes, painted upper and lower lashes, thick dark brown brows, an open mouth with four upper teeth, and a dimpled chin. She stands at 22” tall on her original stamped fully jointed wood and composition body, and wears a dark brown antique human hair wig, styled in curls.
She wears a modern-made white cotton dress, made with antique fabrics. The blouson bodice has lace trim at the collar and sleeves, a strip of lace flanked by tucks just below the collar, with lace-trimmed shoulder ruffles and blue insertion ribbon and bows at the shoulders and waist; the skirt is covered in whitework embroidery, with a scalloped eyeleted hem. Underneath, she wears an antique white cotton full slip with lace trim and tucks, and vintage white cotton pantaloons with scalloped and embroidered hems. On her feet are a pair of black knit socks and black leather shoes.

CONDITION: The bisque head is free of any cracks, chips, hairlines, or restoration, and has excellent modeling and painting of the classic Kestner face; there are some pepper spots and very small rubs on her face. The glass eyes sleep well, and are aligned well in the head. The wood and composition body retains much of its original shiny finish and stamp, with minor and typical age wear. The costume is excellent, with some age wear and minor discoloration to the dress.
