If you are looking for an adorable French closed-mouth Bebe in a lovely antique dress, this beauty is simply unforgettable. Emile Douillet managed the Jumeau factory between 1892 - 1899 and on his arrival, he inspired the production of his very own signature Jumeau bebe. This example is one of the most applealing ED Jumeaux I have ever seen! We love her big blue paperweight eyes, strong French style brows and her plump, bee-stung lips. Not to mention her fully jointed Jumeau body! One of a kind, this sweet French girl will please even the toughest customer.

~Mademoiselle is available on layaway! Take up to 8 months to pay for this outstanding French girl. Feel free to give our office a call any time at 718.859.0901 to discuss layaway terms, or just send us a note at checkout.~ Would you like more photographs before making your decision about this outstanding doll? Just let us know! We are happy to provide them!

She has a bisque socket head with blue set paperweight eyes, painted upper and lower lashes, thick brown brows, a closed mouth, a dimpled chin, and pierced ears. She stands at 22” on her original fully jointed wood and composition body, and wears a gorgeous vintage blond mohair wig.

She wears an antique white cotton dress, decorated all over with tiny pink circles, with a bloused bodice, bib collar, and lace trim at the sleeves, bib collar, and neckline. Underneath, she wears and antique white cotton half slip and pair of pantaloons with lace trim. On her feet are a pair of white knit socks and gorgeous antique black leather shoes, with pink pompoms at the toes and pink silk lining. On her head is a white silk bow, in her ears are round blue-green glass bead earrings, and around her neck is a necklace with alternating round coral and faceted gold-tone beads.

MARKS: E 9 D / [tic marks] [incised, back of head]

CONDITION: She is in excellent condition! Her bisque head is free of any cracks, chips, hairlines, or restoration, and is wonderfully and expertly molded and painted. Her original blue paperweight eyes are clear and aligned well in the head. The original body has some areas of wear and touchup, particularly to the hands and joints; it otherwise retains much of its original shiny finish. The right knee joint was repaired some time in the past and was set sideways, and she has a note from a doll hospital hand-written on her back. The costume is excellent, with very little age wear. This is a truly beautiful closed-mouth ED, and she is ready to join your collection. Will you be the happy new owner? This lovely ED can compete with any Jumeau or FG for quality and beauty!!

*Please note that the price shown for this doll was calculated by factoring in the doll’s condition carefully. The doll’s condition is described fully in the "Condition" paragraph above. Any damage or flaws are carefully evaluated as to the manner in which they may reduce the retail value of this item. Unless there is some major issue we overlooked in the condition report, we decline to entertain any proposals for price reductions due to a less than perfect condition report. Most dolls that are over 100 years old will have encountered issues over the years and perfection is rare when it comes to antiques.
