If I were a collector aiming to purchase one French Bebe this year, I would skip the waiting game and simply purchase this darling Jumeau Bebe. This particular Jumeau Bebe is scrub marked- the Jumeau factory scrubbed off the Tete Jumeau marks on the backs of some dolls heads in order to undersell themselves during a slowdown in sales. This charming bebe with her deep blue eyes and soft blond hair is a total winner! Stake your claim now, because this bebe will be going to a new home really soon. Don't be left in the dust!

She has a bisque socket head with blue paperweight eyes, painted upper and lower lashes, thick feathered brown brows, a closed mouth, and pierced ears. She stands at 17.5” tall on her original fully-jointed wood and composition body, and wears her original antique blond mohair wig, in loose curls with bangs over a modern replacement cork pate.
She is dressed in her original blue silk dress, with a tuck and featherstitching on the skirt, a pleat down the center of the bodice flanked by two layers of scalloped blue silk, a ruffled red sash at the waist with a big red bow at the back, and white lace trim at the sleeves and collar with red insertion ribbon; she also has an antique gold-tone “BEBE” bar pin on the bodice. Underneath, she wears her original antique white cotton half slip and pair of pantaloons, both with lace trim. On her feet are a pair of pale pink knit stockings and antique French brown leather boots. On her head is a fabulous modern-made red silk hat with black stripes, white piping around the brim, a large white and brown ostrich feather wrapped around the cap, and a spray of blue paper flowers nestled in blue net; in her ears are a pair of coral and turquoise glass bead earrings, and she holds a vintage white dove ornament in her hand. A stunning overall presentation!
Tete Jumeau marks were scrubbed off by the Jumeau factory, parts of the original stamp remain
CONDITION: The bisque head is free of any cracks, chips, hairlines, or restoration, and features fine quality bisque and exquisite molding and painting. The original blue glass paperweight eyes are clear and aligned well in the head. The original body has some areas of touchups, particularly to the hands and joints, but otherwise retains much of its original shiny finish. The original dress has areas of repair and tearing of the silk; this does not diminish its presentation. She is simply a fabulous example of a Tete Jumeau.
*Please note that the price shown for this doll was calculated by factoring in the doll’s condition carefully. The doll’s condition is described fully in the "Condition" paragraph above. Any damage or flaws are carefully evaluated as to the manner in which they may reduce the retail value of this item. Unless there is some major issue we overlooked in the condition report, we decline to entertain any proposals for price reductions due to a less than perfect condition report. Most dolls that are over 100 years old will have encountered issues over the years and perfection is rare when it comes to antiques.
