This girl is ready for a day by the sea, in her navy blue and white striped pinafore, a nautical pattern perfect for a day on the boardwalk or a boat! What a wonderful presentation! Just a superb doll!

She has a bisque socket head with bright blue glass sleep eyes, painted upper and lower lashes, thick light brown feathered brows, an open mouth with four upper teeth, a dimpled chin, and pierced ears. She stands at 22” on her antique fully-jointed wood and composition body with straight wrists, and wears a blond mohair wig.
She is dressed in an antique lightweight wool and cotton blue and white striped pinafore, with small pleats in the skirt, white lace overlay on the straps, waist, hem, and up the front, and two rows of five mother of pearl buttons on either side of the lace. Underneath, she wears an antique white waffle-weave cotton blouse with lace trim at the sleeves and collar, an antique white cotton half slip with lace trim, and a pair of antique white cotton pantaloons with ruffled and lace-trimmed hems. On her feet are a pair of white knit socks and antique black oilcloth heeled shoes with silvertone buckles. On her head is an antique white cotton cap with lace trim and large woven-in white polka dots, and in her ears are a pair of earrings with round marbled navy and silver and faceted clear glass beads.
MARKS: S 12 H 719 / DEP [incised, back of head]
CONDITION: Generally Excellent. The bisque head is free of any cracks, chips, hairlines, or restoration, but has a small rub to the nose and some small wig pulls. The glass eyes had broken at the connection to the sleep rocker, but have been repaired and re-set to sleep; the damage is not visible, and the eyes are clear and bright, with good alignment and sleep well. The wood and composition body retains much of its original shiny finish, with some areas of expected age wear; the right lower leg has had to be reglued to the knee joint. The costume is good, and fits her well, with some areas of minor discoloration and moth holes, and the pantaloons have been patched. Overall a wonderful presentation for a desirable doll!
