Dtd 1908 Antique Edwardian Sterling Silver Faux Pearl Bar Pin Brooch
Dating to the Antique Edwardian Art Nouveau period as evidenced by the Pat'd April 14, 1908 hallmark on the reverse of the pin, may I offer this Sterling Silver (hallmarked as pictured) bar pin which has a length of of 3-3/8"; width is 1/8". Weight is 4.7 grams. With a simple c-catch to hold the pinstem in place, the pin was most likely used as a pin for a Jabot scarf knot. Condition is very fine with a patina to the silver. The faux pearls are all original and yes, that is a bit of polish powder residue you see amongst the stones; a light wash will clean this out nicely. There is a makers mark to the piece but it is one I don't recognize - a fish with the initials STEP on the inside. An interesting pin to say the least.
