Antique Victorian 14K Gold Mourning Ring - In Memorium Braided Hair | With Original Note

Dating to the late 1890s or so, here's a 14K Rose Gold (tested, not marked) mourning ring featuring a bit of braided hair under a twisted gold top; along the sides is just a small touch of engraving. The ring comes with a bit of cardboard proclaiming "Mother Nickells (?) hair and the ring Father Father Nickells hair." Ring size is 6-3/4 on my sizer. The design on top, on a straight line, measures 7/8"; width, north/south is 1/4". Weight of the ring is 2.5 grams. Condition is very nice with the brown hair looking like it has been touched with dust. There are no stray hairs, fraying, splaying, etc. There is a bit of tarnish to the ring so a light polish might be in order. Overall, this is a really nice piece of mourning jewelry still intact after about 130 years. Amazing!
