Antique Victorian Scottish Jacobean Revival Sterling Silver Celtic Cross Pendant

Dating to the late 1890s to early 1900s or so, here's a Sterling Silver (tested not marked) Celtic Cross created in a Scottish Jacobean design. The cross pendant is a lengthy one at 3" (without bale and jump ring) x 1-3/8". Weight is 22.9 grams. Condition is very fine though there is something I don't quite understand. At the top, on the reverse, is a hinge - this means the back round should lift up, but it doesn't. I can't quite tell if it has been soldered shut or is simply stuck. I can see that the bottom part of the ring is open but the 2 sides are completely stuck. So I will leave the piece as it is and should the new owner wish to proceed, so be it. As it is now, it's a terrific bit of religious silver.
