Captain William Cornwallis Harris (1807 - 1848) traveled Africa in 1836 and 1837. His folio of drawings was published after his returned from his trip before his death. He was not an outstanding artist, but his lithographs have great charm and spirit. His lithographs are highly sought after by collectors.
Notice the men on horseback and the herds of elephants in the background.
The lithograph is in a nice oak frame under glass. It is in good condition as shown in the photographs.
The oak frame measures 14 ¾ by 10 ¼ inches. The lithograph measures 8 7/8 by 5 ½ inches. This is a wonderful historic lithograph ready for your home or office. Enjoy!
