This is original art signed by Dwight Ripley. In 1951 Mr. Ripley did a series of abstract drawings and the most famous was Birds, Fish, and Cages. This is following the same theme. Notice there are several birds throughout the work. The art is framed and in good condition with some foxing as shown in the photographs. Please take a moment and review the photographs.
Mr. Ripley was born in London and died in 1973. Ripley’s drawings in colored pencil were first shown at Peggy Guggenheim’s gallery. He is noted for his colorful, unique, and pioneering in the use of color pencil as can be seen here.
The art is framed and measures 18 by 23 ½ inches. There is slight damage to the frame. This is a drawing from the 1950s. Enjoy!
