Antique Miniature Painting, NY Governor DeWitt Clinton, Signed K Day
An Antique (circa first quarter 1900s) Miniature Painting of a Gentleman. I believe this is DeWitt Clinton, seventh governor of New York who ran for president of the U.S. against James Madison in 1812. The Painting is signed "K. Day", this artist did Miniatures of historical Political figures. The Painting is in a brass frame with bubble glass and a black celluloid surround. Overall dimensions are 6 1/8" x 4 1/2" and the sight size is 3 1/8" x 2 3/8". There is a moisture mark along the bottom edge which you can only see at a certain angle.
