This is a Bohemian Czech small art glass vase. The maker is unknown. The bottom has a worn mark of “Made In Czechoslovakia.” The date is circa 1930.
The vase is 3 ¾” high and 5 ½” at the flared mouth.
The interior glass is white, not like being cased, but intended to show the bands of dark glass on the exterior through the flared rim; this is quite attractive.
The exterior glass has vertical bands of black with mottled brown, or burgundy brown, between the black stripes.
The edge of the mouth is black.
There is a clear outer layer of glass.
The pontil is round and indented with some roughness.
On the white glass at the mouth there are two or three lines that are tight stress cracks; they are in the interior glass only and probably came out of the kiln that way; they do not show in the photos, however it will be the photo of looking down into the vase, that shows the entire white mouth, if you want to zoom in and try to locate the lines. There are a few air bubbles. There are no nicks or chips.
