Vintage Native American Basket Pin Cushion - image 1 of 5

Beautifully handwoven, this finely crafted Native American pin cushion is quite large, measuring a full 3 inches across and 2-1/2 inches tall. The gold fabric is original, and the tight weave of the basket shows bands of green, red and black in a honey-colored base.

Although color symbolism varies by Native American group, it has been suggested that green represents Will and living willfully, red can mean communication and faith, and black means hearing, harmony and listening.

This pincushion in Good condition, showing only minor wear along the top rim of the basket. A bit of fabric discoloration is due to age. It definitely can be cleaned, although I have not attempted to do so, allowing you to decide if you wish to do so.

The basket colors have not faded over time - they are bold and strong. The sewing needles and pins in the top came with this pincushion, and I’ve left them intact as part of it’s history.
