A very hard-to-find mid century modern blown glass pitcher by Erickson Glass. This beautiful piece stands just under 14" tall and is in excellent condition. This is a smoke color with olive green undertones - the color will vary somewhat from gray to green depending upon the light - most intriguing!
All of Carl Erickson's glass is wonderful. In his youth, he worked for both Pairpoint and Libbey Glass and later for Blenko. In 1943, he opened the Erickson Glass Works in Bremen, Ohio, where he created and perfected his hand blown cased glass. He was highly protective of the quality of his Scandinavian influenced products. As he neared retirement in 1961, he closed his factory rather than sell it to someone who might lower the quality of his glass.
We believe this pitcher is the #277, a rare piece. It's quite heavy, and shipping will be via UPS Ground, insurance included.
