A stunning large art glass vase made by the Consolidated Lamp & Glass Company of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. This magnificent vase was part of its 700 line and is in the Lovebirds pattern with satin finish and ormolu mounts with porcelain medallion. The Lovebirds design was patterned after Rene Lalique's Perruches (Love Birds) vase. This Martele line was introduced in 1929. The contrast between the satin finish background and clear birds and branches gives a depth and elegance to the presentation. The ormolu mounts and porcelain medallion take the vase one step further, adding to the old world beauty. Ormolu mounted pieces are scarce, and this one does not disappoint.
This piece stands 13 1/2" tall and is approximately 9 1/2" in diameter. It weighs a hefty 6 lbs. There are no chips or cracks to the glass or mounts, though there is some age appropriate wear to the ormolu finish. We've shown lots of photos.
