McKee & Brothers introduced their Doric pattern in 1896, the pattern has since also been known as Feather. This piece of antique, early American pressed glass, is a large covered serving bowl which really showcases the spiraling paneled design reminiscent of old cut glass patterns.
The bowl measures 8 3/8" in diameter. The base is just over 2 1/2" in height, and the whole piece is 7" tall when the cover is in place.
In good condition the lid has some very minor roughness around the inner rim, with no chips or cracks. The base has some roughness and very small chips around the ledge on which the lid rests and five or six very small nicks around the rim of the bowl, with some light shelf wear from age. These flaws are minimal considering the age of the piece. It would make an excellent display piece for your collection.
