Doily Set of three pieces in combination of linen and spider work, tenerife and/or net darning. The doilies are in two sizes and in scallop edge ovals. The centers are linen with a tiny tuft texture. The edges are in pink. Waffle squares at the edges are padded and in pink or cream. Closer to the center are spider web designs in navy and orange. They appear to date from the '20s possibly to the '40s when this style was popular
Size: the larger one is more of an oval shape at 21 1/2 x 11 1/2. The two smaller are 13 x 9 1/2
Condition: very good vintage, no stains, no holes. The "tufts" in the linen are strange little dudes, we cannot decide if that is part of the original texture or an example of pilling. Any assistance with the exact description of this machine made "lace" technique would be appreciated. We used Legacy of Lace by Warnick and Nillson as our source.
